bladder infection

My three year grandaughter has been on antibiotics for a cold for a week now.  Last night she says her pee pee itches.  This morning she keeps putting her hand down her pants and says her pee pee itches.  Can she have a bladder infection or a yeast infection from the antibiotics?

She may have a bladder infection from a bacteria that is resistant to the antibiotic that she is taking, but not from the antibiotic. She may well have a vaginal yeast infection or an allergic reaction in her vaginal area related to the antibiotic. Look at her vaginal area and see if it appears irritated, if there is a discharge from her vagina. She may just have a diaper rash from wet underwear. Try baby powder. If this continues tomorrow, she needs a visit to her pediatrician.
