WELL THIS IS A LONG STORY STORY BUT ILL MAKE IT AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. LAST JUNE(2004) , I HAD UNPROTECTED SEX WITH A GIRL I DIDNT KNOW. APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS LATER, I BEGAN FEELING A STRONG STINGING/THROBBING PAIN ON THE HEAD OF MY PENIS AND DISCOMFORT DOWN MY URETHRA.I ALSO NOTICED RED BLOTCHES ON THE HEAD OF MY PENIS. I ENDED UP GOING TO TWO UROLOGISTS WHO GAVE ME SEVERAL MEDICATIONS(CIPRO/DEOXYCYCLINE/PYRIDIUM/)FOR THERE DIAGNOSIS OF URETHRIISIS. NONE OF THESE MEDICATIONS HELPED. I HAD A URINALYSIS AND STD TESTS WHICH ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE. A MANUAL PROSTATE EXAM WAS CONDUCTED WHICH STATED NO IRREGULARUITIES(I HAVE NO PROBLEMS URINATING). A CYSTOSCOPE WAS INSERTED INTO MY URETHRA BUT NO DEFECTS WERE DISCOVERED. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS PAIN IS PRETTY MUCH PERSISTENT THE ENTIRE DAY.

ANYONE THE PAST 9 MONTHS HAVE BEEN TORTURE FOR ME.I AM DEPRESSED OVER MY CURRENT HEALTH STATUS AND I DONT KNOW WHERE TO TURN AND BELIEVE THAT I HAVE EXHAUSTED MY OPTIONS. I AM A 37 YEAR OLD MAN WITH NO MAJOR HEALTH PROBLEMS.I SMOKE AND DRINK A LOT OF COFFEE. I AM ACERTAIN THAT WHAT EVER I HAVE, I RECEIVED FROM THIS UNPROTECTED SEXUAL ENCOUNTER. I WAS ABLE TO CONTACT THIS PARTNER BUT SHE STATED THAT SHE HAS NO STD'S.

A RECAP OF MY SYMPTOMS ARE AS FOLLOWS:THROBBING/STINGING PAIN ON HEAD OF PENIS ACCOMPANIED BY RED BLOTHCHES(ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE UPON ERECTION)/PAIN DOWN URETHRA-APRROXIMATELY 1 INCH DOWN.

IF THERE ANYTHING YOU THINK I CAN DO OR TAKE AT THIS TIME IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

You have been through a pretty comprehensive evaluation, including 2 urologists, prostate exam, and cystoscopy.

Sometimes prostatitis can be notoriously difficult to detect.  I would consider a prostatic massage, and send off any fluid for culture and analysis.

You can also consider a transrectal ultrasound, which can image the prostate for any abscesses that may not have been treated with the antibiotics.  If present, it would have to be drained.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician or in conjunction with another urological opinion.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
