Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Sexual Dysfunction

Hi i'm using the name Shadow for now because i'm a little shy, but i do have many questions.
First i would like to know why i only have one testical. Why me. Having one testical makes me afraid to have a girlfriends because of the sexual role where she will notice my one testical and will tell the world i'm a freak.
Also i'm 17 and when i'm erected my penis is only 5inches anyway i can make it ******. Pills, workout..ect

Thanks alot for the help everyone

Dear Shadow,

Unilateral congenital absence of the testis (a.k.a. monorchia) occurs from either agenesis of the testis (the testis never developed) or early atrophy of the testis at some point in time after initial formation (i.e. in utero testicular torsion). It is thought that most cases of testicular absence result from atrophy of a previously formed testis rather than the testis never developing. This is because when the pathologist examines the end of the spermatic cord, he sees some evidence of old testicular tissue.

With respect to your second question regarding penis size (that may be normal), because you have only one testicle, you may want to have your testosterone level checked. If it is low, it may explain your penis size. There are surgical methods for penile lengthening and augmentation, however, this is considered experimental, especially in healthy individuals. These procedures are wrought with complications which include, but are not limited to, infection, penile deviation, sexual dysfunction, painful erections, poor cosmetic results.

For more information on the surgical complications, reference The Journal of Urology Vol. 155, 1617-1620, May 1996
