Dear Henry Ford Doctors:

I heard something briefly about a Prostate Cancer one time appointment process that you offer. Can you tell me more? It sounds convenient. Do you have any literature? I have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and would like to get a second opinion. Thanks in advance for your help. Larry

Dear Larry
Thanks for your questions.
Prostate cancer can be a difficult disease to treat. Depending on your prostate cancer treatment history, we can usually evaluate your situation and make recommendations the very same day. Your decision for treatment or not is up to you.
You may have heard of our Prostate screening week at Henry Ford. This is a free screening one week in the Fall which is offered to men who have not been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It is usually in September. You are encouraged to call 313-876-2062 when the time comes closer for the exact date so you can tell your friends, sons and brothers. We will offer the screening at several of our suburban campuses for your convenience.
There is also a multispeciatly prostate cancer clinic at our West Bloomfield location on Wednesday afternoons/evenings. This provides an opportunity for a patient to see radiation oncologists, oncologists and urologists at one appointment and learn of their options. Appointments can be made through the contact number that follows.
In the meantime, (1 800 653 6568) will allow your to make an appointment at the Henry Ford Hospital or its urban campuses. All of our urology doctors share an interest in prostate cancer treatment. If you need radiation or chemotherapy we have excellent departments in each. We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians notes and lab test results that you may be able to obtain. These will help us greatly.

This information is provided for general medical education purposes only. Please consult your physician for diagnostic and treatment options pertaining to your specific medical condition.
Sincerely;
HFHS-M.D. MS
