Multiple antibiotics over long periods, amitryptylne 20mg at hs,a short trial of belladona and opium suppositories, continued culture negative and still the pain is getting worse and more intrusive...any ideas of other treatment options for prostadynia? = Dear Jeff, Prostadynia as you well know is a syndrome of pain in the prostate area in the absence of documented infection. It is sometimes difficult to eradicate and many treatments have been tried. To add to your list: warm tub soaks, Ibuprofen, muscle relaxants, and alpha receptor blocking agents such as Hytrin or Cardura have been prescribed. More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its suburban campuses at (1 800 653 6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need.
