Subject: Re: Urge to Urinate
: Nine days ago, I was diagnosed with a UTI (blood in urine, no pain) and = Dear Mike Thanks for your questions This sensation is very typical for a urinary tract infection. It usually take about 12-14 days to get back to normal. I would recommend that you recheck your urine off antibiotics to make sure your are adequately treated. After you have recovered from a simple urinary tract infection, some urologist recommend for the male, a full urinary work-up. The work-up includes Xrays of dye going through the kidneys to the bladder (IVP) and looking into the bladder with a telescope. Infected kidney stones, bladder stones and tumors or outpouchings in the bladder wall that keep the bladder from emptying well are just a few things these test may find that need treatment. Hope this has helped and Good Luck!
