Question Title: Irritated Penis Skin

Forum: The Urology Forum
Topic: Penile Cancer

I had an incident about 9 months ago where unprotected oral sex was performed on me. About 3 or 4 months after this I began to feel an irritated sensation on my penis. The skin on the head seems to have some reddish patches and small bruise like marks near the bottom of the head. I have been tested for every type of STD possible three different times and they all come back negative. I have also seen a dermotoligist who says that things look normal. I have been experiencing a great amount of stress over this because to me it does not look normal. My doctors are now telling me that it may be stress related or hyper-vigilance??? Could this be? Is there a chance it could be genital warts from oral sex??? Because of this I have not had sex or even erections for a while. Now when I do it seems to be an intense erection, could this also be a problem? Please help. Thank you!

Dear Scott,

There are several skin lesions that can affect the penis and glans. The list includes but is not limited to fungal, viral, immunological (allergic), pre cancerous, cancerous, sexually transmitted diseases and idiopathic causes. You seem to have had a through examination from a physician and a dermatologist. Either one of them would have diagnosed a sexually transmitted disease or cancer. Further you have had three negative tests for STD. Therefore it is much more likely that you have one of the other causes including contact dermatitis or idiopathic lesion. You do realize that I am handicapped by not being able to examine the lesion myself. However based on the limited information my recommendation would be to follow the lesion very closely by your physician. Getting tense will not help you and will affect your mental and sexual health.
