For the last 4 months I have been experiencing temporary loss of vision. The routine is the same each time it happens. I go to bed, all lights of except my bedside light, I read for 10+min., turn out the light. I then get a heavy, swollen feeling on the right side of my face and can't see out of my right eye.At this time there is enough light from the street light to make out everything in the room and I can see with my left eye but not my right. It usually last about 10 min. I have been to an opthamologist and vascular specialist(he did ultrasound on my neck) neither one found anything. I also get pins and needles in my hands from time to time and find my limbs tend to fall asleep quite easily. I never mentioned the tingling to either doctor as I figured it was quite normal. Should I just chalk all this up to some harmless but quirky thing or pursue it in case it actually means something.

michelle-
how old r u?? that would help. do u experience headaches with this?? are u sure it is not both eyes involved? i would mention the tingling to your doctor, and i might suggest an examination by a neuro-ophthalmologist. finally, this may still be caused by vascular disease, depending on your age, and u may want to further pursue this possibility.
