My vision is double horizontally when I look with my head slightly UP. When I go down a stairway, my vision is blurred for the steps close to me (With glasses or not; I do not have double or progressive lenses) When I look at TV, if I put my head up slightly and pull lightly on both lower lids in an outside direction, the double image disappear and vision is very clear. I think that my muscles around my eyes are very weak. I have suffered all my life of weak muscle in my body. I have a sister with fibromyalgia. In the familly, we all have bags below the eyes. Can you give me information about this type of problem and what kind of cure exist. Thanks! ________ Double vision is caused when an image is projected onto different parts of the retina of each eye. This is usually caused by a muscle imbalance but not always. Other causes include abnormal lid position, cataract, need for glasses, eye surface abnormalities, and others. To evaluate your condition you need a complete ophthalmic evaluation by an ophthalmologist. The fact that your double vision is relieved when you pull your lower lids away from your eyes may implicate too much laxity, tightness, or a bump involving the lower lid that is affecting the eyeball. This scenario is certainly possible. If you are interested in an evaluation at Henry Ford, please call 3139163730 to arrange an evaluation with a specialist near your home.
