Question Title: Blind Spot in One Eye

I am 42, female, IDDM (12 years). I had my annual eye exam 5 months ago and the results came out "fine" which ment(I think) no significant retinopathy and my vision is normal. I do have occasional blurring mostly at close distances (because I'm 41 or blood sugar fluctuations). The thing I am worried about is I seem to have a blind spot in my left eye. Not long after my visit to the doc I noticed a blurred line blocking part of my vision when I looked only through that eye. It don't notice it when both eyes are open. The spot looks like the spots I get when I look at a bright light then look away. This spot stays and has not gotten any worse. Is this somthing I need to have checked on sooner than my next annual visit? Is this something that would need treatment?
Thanks,
Barbara

If you are noticing a subjective change in your vision, especially a blind spot, you need to have your eyes reexamined. Without seeing you, I cannot comment about what you may have.
