Posted by Brita on August 02, 1999 at 17:12:37 When scar tissue is formed on or under the macula due to presumed occular histoplasmosis, do they increase in size over time, the way scars on the skin do? And since a person can have multiple occurrences of neovascularization, isn't this disease considered progressive?
Posted by hfhs md ke on August 02, 1999 at 23:20:52 it is not the scars that is the problem necessarily, it is the chances that they may lead to the neovascularization which can be visually treatening. what u need to do is be followed closely by an ophthalmologist,at least once a year.Take heart because the disease is not always progressive.If you are interested we would love to see you here at Henry Ford Eye Care Services.
