.My 38 year old husband has for three weeks been experiencing episodes of missed heartbeats (1-4 times a minute) without any raising or lowering of the heartrate. He can feel it when it starts happening and it might continue for an hour or a few hours. Yesterday he started having nervous twitches in other parts of the body like the eyelid, back of arm, etc., for short durations each. Could these be related? When he goes in to see the doc, the episode probably won't be happening. How will he be evaluated and should he be immediately concerned?

tanbark3Dear tan,
Most likely he is having PACs or PVCs. You can find many other postings concerning these topics on this site. Briefly these "extra beats" are generally benign and may be heightened by stress, caffeine, alcohol and possibly sugar. The twitches may also be stress related. He should still see his doctor for an evaluation in the near future to make sure there is nothing else going on. His doctor will probably want to check an ECG and do a complete physical exam.

.I had the same symtoms, twitching upper eyelid, pvc's(mine were exposed after taking a diet pill), stamach acid. I took Tums which made the pvc's worse. After stopping the Tums and began taking Solarray brand Magnesium/Potassium w/bromilen, within 24 hrs the pvc's stopped completely, no more twitches, pain in my leg bone, nervousness. My heart now purr like a kitten, it does not race, does not skip beats and has cured me. These vital minerals are deficent in 80% of the population. they often don;t get absorbed under certain conditions, too much salt can cause potassium absorbtion. too many rolaids or tums can do same. Too much Calcium too. Magnessium and potasium regulate the electrical activities in the body, ie, heart rythem, the twitches he gets, etc
