Massive Bruising on Penis After Intercourse

When having intercourse, I experienced a harder than usual push inward on vaginal entry (caused by lack of lubrication). I maintained erection, felt no real pain, and finished normally. Within a few minutes I noticed bruising coming out at the base of my penis.
The next morning, my entire penis (except for the circumcised head, which has remained uninvolved) was grossly discolored and swollen. By the end of the day, a pouch of liquid about the size of a walnut developed under the head. Today, the second day, the pouch remains, but the swelling along the shaft has subsided a little. The dark purple to black color remains.
It is hideous, but not too painful. I have not attempted intercourse again, but have felt stirrings that indicate my erective ability seems intact.
What has happened, and what can I expect? Should I see a doctor?

Sounds like you broke a blood vessel. You will see banana color in a couple of days or sooner--the bilirubin breaking down, just like any other bruise. You should see a doc if the swelling doesn't subside or if you see ANY signs of infection--an infection there could lead to literal loss of your manhood.
