brown spot on white part of eye

by suck, Jan 01, 2006 12:00AM
My 4yr. old daughter has a pin size brown spot on the white part of her eye. She does not feel it or have vision problems.Iam so scared it is intraocular melanoma. Her Dr. said he did not think so but we are still going to an eye Dr..(in 3 weeks) what could this be?

most likely just pigment deposition in sclera.  intraocular melanoma is pretty exceedingly rare.  this is not a medical emergency.  keep your eye appt in 3 weeks and try not to worry.

Thank You for your input. But I still worry. If it was intraocular melanoma would it change shape and it it would how long would it take to change shape? My daughter eye has not change its pin size shape. I hope this is a good thing. We have know about it since 12/1/2005. Dont know if it was everthere before. Thank You again it nice to know people out there care.

intraocular melanoma would not likely be visible on the "white part" of the eye.
