Duane's Syndrome - surgery

by supakt, Aug 17, 2005 12:00AM
Hey all!

I was diagnosed with Duane's very early in life, around 12 months.

I had one lot of surgery on my left eye when i was 2, im very happy with the result!

And then more surgery on my right eye when I was around 14.

I am not as happy with the surgery on the right eye, it seems to 'move' more than the left, all in all, the job is just not as good.

Can this be operated on again?  And can i expect the same result as my left eye?  They told me the first operation on the left eye was done using an 'older' technology, but this seems to have worked better!

I am also concerned with the fact that my right eye sits further foward than my left....it means my lower eyelid is pushed forward, something that makes me very self concious about my eyes....

Is this something that can be fixed?  It appears the right eye also has a lot of excess skin under the eye as compared to the left....

My left eye is beautiful, i would like the same for my right!

Any help will b greatly appreciated!
