macular hole post op

by vancouver604, May 14, 2007 12:00AM
It's been 7 weeks since I have surgery to repair a macular hole in my left eye but it is still red where the stitches are. How long does it take for the red to go away? My vision is still blurry, not sure if it is due to the reflection of the gas bubble.

Thank you in anticipation.

usually 6-8 weeks for the redness to go away, so you should be almost done.

the blur is likely from the macular hole, probably not IMO from the gas bubble after 7 weeks.  even tho repaired, most people with a macular hole dont regain their full vision.
