i am overwhelmed. i had cataract surgery last october for a simple right eye cataract removal. something went wrong. i was on pain meds the night of surgery. the dr. insisted he did nothing wrong, it was a fine surgery. i have halos and colored lights in my right eye with alot of pain. the halos and liughts are bad at night. i can also see the lens jiggle. everyone is seen with the shape of an eye. at times i can see my eye looking back at me. it is horrible. i have gone to 7 optomologosts in this town. after obtaining my medical records i can see where they are all contacting each other and have all terminated me. i am in a pool of physician politics. does anyone have advice. I  am now disabled at 51. was also told i didn't even need the surgery. help!

well this wont be easy to solve.  i feel bad for you but really cant offer you too much advice.  except to say that the symptoms you describe are all fairly common symptoms associated with cataract extraction.

I too have had post cataract surgery light/glare/starbursts etc. primarily in my left eye ... and especially painful with light exposure to the outside of my eyeball in direct light and any temporal light ... I often need to cup my hand around the left eye for comfort.  I too have sought the opinion of another eye surgeon as well as visited ENT specialist and neurologist..the latter to see if my problem was caused by some other condition always knowing full well it was my eye.  I also visited the manufacturer of the lens I have and to date have received no response.
Over the past two years despite my efforts I am being told that nothing is visably wrong.  The diagnostics aren't available to check for what you and I are experiencing. Physician politics indeed !  I know exactly how you feel ... I have recently had contact with a women from England who had her lenses replaced in Boston ... do we have to leave our country for an objective diagnosis ? It seems like it.
Keep in touch ..
