crystalens

hi I had cateract surgery and had crystalens put in on 3-28-06 to my left eye and had the right eye done 2 weeks later since then i to have had halos in driving and when i go anywhere there is low lighting,my doctor has lasder my eyes once in the right and two times in the left he says i have a film or a membrain that keeps growing back over it i have been on drops{econopred plus 4 times a day} for all most a year now in my left eye. I still have floters in both eyes, my doctor says the implants might be to small for my pupils, some days my eye is real sore all around my eyeball. Is there some thing else i can do or can i get larger lens and will the floaters and halos ever go away?

the halos are likely due to pupil siez and implant design (mutifocal).  unlikely that after nearly a year the halos will ever 'go away' on their own.  the vision that you have right now is likely what you will always have until/unless you have the multifocal implants explanted and have monoficals reinserted, which may or may not be possible.  you'll need to consult your surgeon or another surgeon to see if it is possible in your case.

I had the crystalen inplanted in my left eye in Nov. 06. My vision is quite well. Very clear during the day and enjoying colors.  I still have a problem seeing words on signs and struggle with closeup reading. The doctor said I have a stigmatism (sp?) and he will fix it via laszek procedure. My right was also done in Dec. 2006. I have having leakage/swelling problems. It's like looking through a cloud. Have gone to a Vitreorental specialist. Second visit yesterday and my right eye has not improved. She prescribed Nevanac drops 4 times a day along with Prednisolone Acetate Ophthalmic Suspension USP. If these drop don't take the swelling down, she is recommending an injection to the eyeball. I am going to get a second opinion. If anyone has experienced this, please let me know what you did and how you are doing not. Thanks for your imput.

The crystalens is not a multifocal IOL. It is a monofocal accommodating IOL. It differs from the multifocal design lenses (ReSTOR and ReZoom) in that it presents a single point focus to the retina due to its monofocal design as opposed to the mutliple images introduced by the multifocals.
