black spot in eye

by bbbarb123, Feb 13, 2007 12:00AM
I have one black spot in my right eye, perihral,??, that stays in the same place on my eye but moves with my eye.  Is this a floater and what can I do about it? I do have diabetes.

well yes, probably a floater...  but with diabetes you're at risk for retinopathy (bleeding in your eye).  there are many things that cause 'floaters'.  most of the time in non-diabetics, the floaters are benign collagen condensations.  but in DIABETICS the risk is that the floater may be a sign of retinal bleeding, which would be a big deal.

you need an eye exam.
