Vision Problem After Vitrectomy

by Ricker, Dec 29, 2006 12:00AM
I had a vitrectomy 3 weeks ago for a macular hole. The surgeon keeps telling me all is well but has had me in for 5 post-op exams.I also had to spend a day in emergency when the ocular pressure soared to 68 mm.

My vision has been slowly improving and clearing except for two things.

1.-Everything is tinted green as if I was looking through a greem plastic sheet.

2.- Whenever I look down or sleep on my side my vision clouds so much that I cannot see a thing except light. When I am upright it clears up gradually over 30 mins. or so.There are no floaters or debris at all,it's like looking through a green sheet or something.

I've asked the surgeon and the technicians but they keep skirting the issue. There must be something out of order because he keeps making me come back so many times.

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? Thanks.

I TURNED 40 AND FELL APART.  I HAVE HAD ONE BUCKLE, AND TWO VITRECTOMY'S ON MY LEFT EYE - FINALLY SEEMS TO BE HOLDING AFTER BACK UP LASER END OF NOVE 2006

TWO WEEKS OUT OF VITRECTOMY OF RIGHT EYE, PRIOR CRYO DIDN'T WORK.

I HAVE TO GO BACK TO MY DOCTOR'S WEEKLY, THE MORE VISITS, THE MORE THEY ARE ABLE TO WATCH YOU.  TREATMENT AT THE FIRST SIGNS WORKS BETTER.
