Orbital Decompression--side effects

I am facing probable orbital decompression surgery for an orbital hemangioma.  I understand the theory of why this is necessary and why it works but can't find a whole lot of info on frequency and possible negative side effects.  Is this a fairly common proceedure?  What can I expect in terms of vision changes----negative side effects, recovery time, restrictions in activity?



I have also been told I need cataract surgery.  Which one should be done first?

you cant find much info on vision changes because there probably wont be any vision changes with that type of surgery.  there will only be pain/discomfort in recovery.  but you will not have vision changes.



go by what your surgeon says, but i wold think probably have the decompression 1st...
