eye swelling

My dad is having eye pain and white discharge from the right eye. We took him to the specialist and they took blood test and the blood test was negative . They also did the VT scan and MRI last week. According to them there is a sweel behind his eye and the nerve is pressing the eye which causes him very, very painful. No medication was given . The doctor told they could only do a surgery that is to cut the bone near the eye and take out the tissue and later send it to the lab for observation. They would only give medication after doing the surgery. We did not give them any answers yet. The eye vision is also blurr on the right side. Other than that everything is perfect. I need your comments. Thk U.

wow.  if an MRI confirmed "swelling behind his eye", then he has optic neuritis or some kind of mass back there (possible cancer).  that would certainly cause blur.

he needs specialists.  neurologists, oncologists, etc

Thk U for the comment given previously. I would like to know whether surgery is needed for further medication or not? My dad is 70 years old and we are concern about his health too. According to the doctor if it is cancer , it is in a stagnant place and does not spread since his blood sample  are all negative. Pls advise on that. Thk U very much.

Thk U. I am still cautious why is the vision blurr for the past 5 days since my dad's checkup last week. His pupil is also not moving. The doctor told that it's because of the nerve pressing the eye ball. We are wondering if any medication would cure the blurrness since we could not get the answer yet.

Thanks.
