Las week my daughter had retinal buckle removed

doctor said "piece of cake" but when bandages removed she could not see except for some peripheral vision will be a week in a couple of days and we are so worried, he said retinal was swollen whatever that means, anyone have this experience please let me know, we are going for 2nd opinion as soon as possible.  Buckle had to be removed due to infections and buldging.   Thanks
