calcification and health insurance (part 2)

A couple of followup questions:

1. How critical is time in examining cells? In other words, would it be unwise to postpone a follow up mammogram?

2.What is the normal procedure following a magnification mammogram to determine if cells are pre-cancerous or cancerous? And what then?

3.If additional procedures are needed, what is “normal” cost?

I am not worried about short term costs for follow up care - I am willing and able to pay out of my pocket. I am only concerned about insurability and a worst-case scenario.

Dear EinBoulder, See prior note.  If further evaluation is recommended beyond mammogram, biopsy is usually the next step.  I do not know what costs are of the various procedures that varies from facility to facility and in different parts of the country.  There may be programs available that would address some of these issues, check with your local health department.
